welcome-jeff2You didn’t think I was brewing all of this beer myself did you?  Jeff is the newest addition to Iron Hill’s brew crew.  He came to us from Trap Rock Restaurant and Brewery where he apprenticed under Charlie Schroeder.  Jeff is also enrolled in the Siebel Institute’s World Brewing Academy program.  Welcome to the family Jeff!

This afternoon we put our Belgian Pale Ale on tap.  Unlike many Belgian ales, this one is hoppy and sessionable.  It’s got some Belgian fruitiness compliments of the Chimay yeast strain that is balanced by a healthy dose of those Styrian Goldings hops the Belgians love so much.  I think I’ll have one after work.  It’s nice to have a Belgian beer you can drink more than a couple of and still walk!

Cheers,

Chris

office-002It’s where I do stuff like inventory, blog updates, respond to e-mails etc.  I think it’s a nice little office.  Sure, I don’t have a fancy swivel chair, or potted plants or a nice park view.  But does your office have a bar attached?  Just saying.  By the way, Anvil Ale went on tap today.  It used to be a house beer and there was a bit of a backlash when we took it off to make room for the Vienna Lager and our rotating Belgian.  I think it was a good decision overall, but boy did some people get ticked.  I can understand, it really is a great beer.  It’s often overlooked while in the presence of the much brighter, more assertive Ironbound Ale, but when I do sit down and drink one I really enjoy it.  It really does remind me of  beers I’ve drank while sat  in English pubs.  Enjoy it while its on.

Cheers,

Chris
