It is my bittersweet duty to inform those of you who don’t already know that I will be leaving you in less than a week. Iron Hill is opening up location number eight in Maple Shade, New Jersey. I’ll be the guy at the tanks (and in the tanks). It’s hard to believe that I’ve been here for more than five years! Time really does fly when you enjoy what you do. Anyhow, before you shed too many tears I also have to let you know that once I’m gone you’ll be in the capable hands of Larry Horwitz, previously our head brewer in North Wales. You’ll like him and his beer is almost as good as mine.
I’m really going to miss West Chester, its people, the town’s culture and the staff here at the ‘Hill. But the lure of a brand new facility and much shorter commute made Jersey the winner. Anyhow we thought it was only fitting to end my time here with a bash this Thursday at 6 pm. It will be a chance for everyone to meet Larry and if you’re so inclined to wish me well in my new endeavor.
We also thought it would be appropriate to let you see what you’re in for by putting a bunch of Larry’s beer on for the event. Expect to see some of my special beers from the Iron Hill cellars and some of Larry’s secret stash from North Wales.
I hope to see you there. If I don’t I’ll thank you now for your patronage, support and friendship over the past five years. And try not to be too hard on Larry!

The BEER is all that matters my friend. Glad to hear you’re staying in the family. Best of luck in Maple Shade and don’t be a stranger to the WC.

looking forward to Iron Hill’s arrival in NJ..Welcome!!..Perhaps the maple shade should have a signature beer all of its own … My vote is for a big Imperial IPA….you can call it Cropwell IPA (maple shade used to be called cropwell twp prior to 1945)

Changing of the guard indeed….Always appreciated Chris’s fun and positive attitude not to mention his creativity for new ideas in brewing..
Best of luck in making NJ another successful “Brewery” and not so “Shady” maple place…
