Mark, Charlie, and Bob. BOB!-BOB!-BOB!

I have finally recovered enough from Chicago to be able to type.  I’m proud to say that on the backs of Bob Barrar and Justin Sproul, we won Large Brewpub of the Year.  Here is a link to the official press release from the World Beer Cup. http://worldbeercup.org/press_release.html .

Bob won two Gold medals and a Bronze.  He also won a medal for “Best Legs”. That of course is a joke, but if they have a category for it i’m sure Bob would find a way to win.  He always does.

Newark wins!

Justin from our Newark location won Silver and Bronze medals.  It should be noted however that later in the evening his assistant “Rut” who was the Champ and the odds on favorite, lost a  dance-off to Chris LaPierre from Maple Shade.  The newly crowned champ used a “bear attack” style to quickly unnerve Rut.  I’m not sure the visual will ever leave me, nor do i want it to.

Winner, Winner. Chicken Dinner.

With all joking aside, it is a pleasure to brew with, to drink with, and to call all the brewers in this company my friends.  Cheers. ~V

THE PHILLY BOYS!

The brewers from iron hill are lucky enough to be in Chicago, attending the craft brewers conference and the World Beer Cup. The awards ceremony is tonight and as you can imagine we all have butterflies in our stomachs. As well as some great beer and food from an amazing city. Updates and pictures are soon to come. ~V

Dubbel is not trubel, or trouble for that matter.  It is however on tap right now and it’s pretty tasty.  I love having Dubbel on around this time of year.  It’s just as complex as the changing weather.  Next week we should have Hefeweizen and ESB on tap as well.  I will have the exact dates posted early next week.  My assistant Kyle has been hounding me for a keg of habanero porter, so as soon as that is ready (I’m thinking around April 16th) I will post it on here.  That will be one keg only so it won’t be on for long!~V
