The Gathering of the Gourds: A festival of pumpkin-ness
So this thing is REALLY starting to get out of hand, and I am very, very happy about that! As you all know I am fresh back from Denver and the GABF where I had the opportunity to cacus with the Kings of Pumpkin (Will from Cambridge, Dick from Elysian, and Rick from Stewarts). The meeting was Fruitful (yuk, yuk) and pumpkin beer is ‘a movin’ our way. Come early if you are interested in getting a samper of these beers as it looks like we will be totally packed. There is a bike club coming, the drive in folks, mug club….can’t wait! A recap if you haven’t seen:
“The fall season is upon us. That means it time to celebrate the holiest of squashes - the great and wonderousCucurbita pepo! Here at Iron Hill Brewery we take the pumpkin, and beer made with it very seriously. As usual we’ve been going crazy brewing with the sainted gourd. We’ll be hosting an event to let everyone else in on our joy on Saturday October 24th, 2009 starting at 2:00 p.m. We’ll be pouring 10 different pumpkin beers from all over Iron Hill Brewery land. Here’s the current list. We’ve got our ownIchabod Imperial Pumpkin Ale, Bruce Camp-ale, Boom Sticke Pumpkin Alt, Punk-toberfest, and straight up Pumpkin Ale. We will also be pouring guest pumpkin beers from our friends at Elysian Brewing Company, Cambridge Brewing Company, and Stewart’s Brewing Company. Chef Dan and his Crew will be joining it too with creative complimentary pumpkin concoctions. Pouring starts at 2:00 p.m. Pumpkin- Firkin will be tapped at 5:00 p.m. and on the down low, we will be hosting the Guerilla Drive In guys for a screening of one of the most wondrous of all holiday films: Evil Dead Army of Darkness. Costumes encouraged and anyone dressed will receive free beer from the pumpkin. This is a pay as you go event held in the back bar at Iron Hill Brewery West Chester, PA. Check out the Ichabod fermenting like crazy!”
