I just got an email from my friend Steve Mashington over at Yards Brewing Company.  Apparently the Yards crew has stepped up into the big time. There is a case of their Love Stout in a movie! Now here’s the fun part….guess what movie it is? I’ll give you a hint. It’s a star studded blockbuster (Seth Rogan et.al.) called Zach and Miri make a [adult film] (adult film is a euphemism…this blog is pg-13 after all). Full movie details are over here. The cool thing is that there is a product placement for Love stout! Yards just relocated and is in the process of getting beer back on the street. We can’t wait. When asked about the movie Mash had the following to say:

“Since being a craft brewery is all about slick marketing campaigns and skimping on the ingredients, it only makes sense if we ensure our product to have solid placement in the major motion picture industry.

Seriously, we get several requests a year from production company’s to lend them old cases and such.  This was one of those occasions.  They were filming in NJ or PA and wanted to use local brands for props.  I have no idea how often the beer appears, but it’s pretty cool.  I’ve attached the trailer and a still image that shows one of the dudes holding a case of Love Stout.”

The movie itself looks really funny.  It’s a new Kevin Smith film that will be out on 10/31/08.
