Who brews here
Pete “Soup” CampbellHead Brewer · Center City Philadelphia
“I enjoy brewing because it’s fun and creative. And Iron Hill has that same vibe of fun and creativity.”
Every Iron Hill brews its own beer on site, which is why the Center City Philadelphia tap list is its own. Between them, Iron Hill’s brewers have taken 80+ medals at the Great American Beer Festival and the World Beer Cup. See the medal record or meet the rest of the team.
Eating and drinking in Center City
Iron Hill Center City sits on Market Street between 11th and 12th, which puts most of downtown Philadelphia within a few blocks. Reading Terminal Market is a five-minute walk north, the Fashion District is directly across the street, and the Pennsylvania Convention Center is close enough that a session badge and a pint tend to go together. City Hall anchors the western end of the same street.
That location shapes who comes in. Weekday lunches lean toward people working the Market East corridor and anyone breaking off from a conference. Evenings bring theatre-goers, Sixers and Flyers crowds heading south, and the steady flow of people who have discovered that a brewpub with its own brewhouse behind glass beats another chain dining room.
The brewhouse is the point of difference. Everything poured here is made on site, which means the tap list moves faster than a distributed brewery's would and the one-offs never leave the building. If you are deciding where to eat in Center City and you care what is in the glass as much as what is on the plate, that is the argument.
Good for
- Pre-theatre and pre-game dinner
- Conference and convention groups
- Weekday lunch on Market East
- Out-of-town visitors who want something Philadelphia-made
